A very bright and fast Perseid in daylight could be seen during last August 8th evening, at 19h55 UT.

This object was registered with the SMART Project’s detector operated at Calar Alto (Almería), La Hita (Toledo), Sierra Nevada (Granada), Huelva and Seville observatories.

Three of the external cameras of the Calar Alto Observatory in Almería also followed this nice event.

Another nice Alpha-Capricornid flew above Murcia (South East Spain) skies on August 1st, at 22h12 UT.

This event was registered with the SMART Project’s detector operated at Calar Alto (Almería), La Hita (Toledo), Sierra Nevada (Granada), La Sagra (Granada), Huelva and Seville observatories.

In this case, three of the external cameras located at Calar Alto Observatory in Almería, could also register this nice fireball.

Last July 30th, south of Spain had an interesting night due to the peak of Alpha-Capricornids shower and the initial phase of Perseids.

In fact three of these nice objects were registered with both, the SMART Project’s detectors operated at Calar Alto Observatory in Almería, and also several of its externals cameras.

Together with Calar Alto Observatory, SMART Project detectors located at La Hita (Toledo), Sierra Nevada (Granada), La Sagra (Granada), Seville and Huelva, also registered these events.

At 21:38 UTC on July 28, 2025, a brilliant Alpha Capricornid was seen crossing Albacete, heading toward Madrid and leaving behind a beautiful trail of light.

This object was recorded by the detectors of the SMART Project operated at Calar Alto (Almería), La Sagra (Granada), Sierra Nevada, El Arenosillo (Huelva), La Hita (Toledo), and Seville.

The external cameras of the Calar Alto Observatory were also able to witness this lovely event.

During the first part of the night of July 26th, at 20h59 UT, a bright fireball crossed the skies of Zamora province (North West Spain)

This object was registered with the detectors operated within the SMART Project at the observatories of Calar Alto (Almería), La Hita (Toledo), Sierra Nevada (Granada), La Sagra (Granada), Sant Celoni y Marçà (Tarragona), Huelva and Seville.

One of the external cameras of Calar Alto Observatory in Almería also recorded this nice fireball.
