October is being a great month concerning fireballs.
On October 14th, at 18h46 UT (20h46 Spanish local time), another impressive fireball could be registered with the SMART Project’s detectors operated at Calar Alto (Almería), La Hita (Toledo), La Sagra (Granada), Sierra Nevada (Granada), Huelva and Seville observatories.
In this occasion, two of the external cameras located at Calar Alto Observatory, in Almería, could record the total path of this event, from its beginning to its explosive end.
October 13th 2022
The Spanish National Day started with a really impressive fireball at 4h50 UT (6h50 Spanish local time)
This spectacular object has been registered with the SMART Project’s detectors operated at Calar Alto (Almería), La Hita (Toledo), Sierra Nevada (Granada), La Sagra (Granada), Huelva, El Aljarafe (Seville) and Seville observatories.
Several external cameras of the Calar Alto Observatory in Almería, also recorded this incredible event.
October 9th 2022
At 02h24 UT of last October 9th 2022, a bright fireball overflew Valencia province (mid-east Spain).
The object was registered with SMART Project’s detectors operated at Calar Alto (Almería), Ayora (Valencia), La Hita (Toledo), Sierra Nevada (Granada) and La Sagra (Granada).
As on other occasions,, some of the external cameras located at Calar Alto Observatory in Almería also followed this event.
October 5th 2022
In October 4th 2022, at 19h04 UT (21h04 Spanish local time), a bright fireball that had a long duration, flew above south west coast of Spain, just in front of Cádiz (Andalusia – South Spain).
This object was registered with the SMART Project’s detector operated at Calar Alto (Almería), Huelva, La Hita (Toledo), Sierra Nevada (Granada), La Sagra (Granada) and Seville observatories.
Two of the external cameras located at Calar Alto Observatory in Almería, could also follow this event.
September 27th 2022
With a very long trajectory and almost parallel to the ground, last night of September 26, at 00:44 UT (02:44 Spanish local time), a fireball could be seen flying over the provinces of Jaén, Granada and Málaga to finish just in the coast of the latter province.
This bright event was registerd with the detectors that the SMART Project operates at Calar Alto (Almería), Huelva, La Hita (Toledo), Sierra Nevada (Granada), La Sagra (Granada) and Seville Observatories.
One of the external camera operated at Calar Alto Observatory in Almería could also record this object.
