May 12th 2018

A fireball with a very vertical trajectory flew over Jaen Province (South Spain) on the night of May 12th 2018 at 22:09 UT (00:09 local time).

This fireball could not be observed from SMART Project's detectors at Calar Alto Observatory (Almería, South Spain), but it could be registered from the external surveillance webcams located at this observatory, as well as with the SMART detectors operated at La Hita (Toledo), Sevilla and La Sagra (Granada).

April 23rd, 2018

On April 23rd 2018, at 02:38 UT (04:38 local time) a bright fireball could be observed at the east part of Andalucía (South Spain) in front Almería's coasts. This event could only be registered with the SMART Project's detectors operated at Calar Alto (Almería) and La Sagra (Granada) observatories, as well as with the webcams of the external surveillance  system at Calar Alto, mainly due to the haze that most of Andalucía's skies had at that time.

April 14th, 2018

At 21:41 UT of last April 14th, a long fireball flew above Castilla La Mancha (Mid-South Spain). The object could be registered with the the SMART Project's detectors operated at the Observatories of Calar Alto (Almería), La Sagra (Granada), La Hita (Toledo) and Sevilla. This event could also be observed with one webcam of the Calar Alto Observatory surveillance system.

April 01st 2018

Last night of April 1st 2018, at 06:17 local time (04:17 UT) a bright fireball flew over Granada, Almería and Murcia (South Spain) skies. This phenomena could be registered with the SMART detectors operated at OSN (Granada), La Sagra (Granada), La Hita (Toledo) and Sevilla observatories. The object could be also recorded with two webcams of the Calar Alto Observatory external surveillance system.

February 18th 2018

This weekend is being especially active in South Spain's skies as far as fireball are concerned. Besides the ones observed during nights of 16th and 17th, last early morning it has been possible observing a long and bright fireball flying on the skies of Albacete, Murcia and Alicante (Southeast Spain) at 04:41 UT (05:41 local time). This phenomena could be registered from SMART Proyect's detector operated at Calar Alto (Almería), La Hita (Toledo), La Sagra (Granada) and Sevilla observatories, as well as with the Calar Alto Observatory (Almería) external surveillance webcams.
