CALAR ALTO UTILITIES

The Registry and regView: The registry is a program that is started automatically everytime you access an instrumentation account. It will ask you several questions that are saved as our Observer Registry. Next time you enter on the same account (and within the same observing run), all your data are shown so you only must click on th continue button. Of course, at that time, you can modify all the data.

Another thing the Registry is doing, is asking you the disk and directory where you want to have your files. There are graphics where you can see the availables disks and the free space on them. When decided the disk and the directory, it will be automatically created and you'll be placed on it, so you can start working.

This program is linked with the fitslist utility, so if you are well registered and you execute that utility for listing your fits files, the header will have all your registration data.

The program called regView is the one which allows us to see the data stored on the registry. Data is separated for telescopes.
