from January to December 2002)
(A) Hardware:
-
A new
Ultra 80 machine (called ultra35) is
now running for LAICA project
-
Since
june we have a new Linux Server which is also the gate to the DHCP and our Private Network
as well as other kind of facilities.
-
A new
computer (PC – Pentium IV) for our local Astronomy group has been prepared
-
The
number of modems available to users has been increased up to four on our RAS
server
-
Jobs forwarding
to have network on Hotel rooms have been started.
(B) Software:
-
FFL : The same program as the one
for Flats Fields done for the 3.5 is now available for the 2.2
-
The Weather Web Page have now
new features, so you can see now night graphics or have
a dedicated page for the seeing (updated every minute). Also a moon calendar is available at
the page bottom.

A lot
of security jobs including filtering on our router and several patch
installation on Solaris machines. Also php, zlib, apache and other necessary
libraries have been updated and patched.

Package
Dimsum is now available under Iraf

Eclipse
program is also installed

Midsum
package installed on midas

Programs
obscat35 and obscat22 (Courtesy of Mr. Thiele) allow you to work with Catalogues. It can be
launched several times in order to work with different Catalogues.

DHCP
has been moved from the Windows machine to a Linux one. The DHCP and our Private Network
lay on SuSE 8.0 Linux software, acting as a
router between our main network and the private one and supports SciSoft software.

Software
for 1.23m Tel. Dome Automatization in collaboration with Electronic Group has
been prepared. Although final tests will be carried out on 2003, version 1.0
for this program is finished. You can see a detailed description here
(see epigraph 10th on
that documentation).
