1.23m Upgrades

After having been equipped with a new Zerodur main mirror in 1998, the 1.23m telescope has got now a new secondary of the same material too. The optical system remains unchanged. Curvature sensing measurements proved the optical properties to be very good.

Additional straylight baffles have been installed in front of the detector. This reduced the scattered light to a great extend.

In order to reduce the warming of the dome - and for the sake of the observer's comfort - the control room was moved to the ground floor. This required an automation of the dome control.

Temperature sensors have been installed in order to compensate for thermal changes in the focus. However, this option is still not available.
