The command window is not a GUI panel, but is a normal xterm (normally in
the lower right corner of the screen) from which the GUI was originally
started. The GUI uses this display to write out various messages (such as
noting when a pause goes into effect) or display the commands issued
from a macro during its execution. Text commands equivalent to any of
the normal commands found in the macros can also be issued in this window
by hand. For example, typing "save" in the command window will cause the
current image in memory to be saved to disk using the currently defined
save options.
