Several fireballs took place during the first part of April. All of them were registered with the SMART Project’s detectors operated at Calar Alto (Almería), Huelva, La Hita (Toledo), Sierra Nevada (Granada), La Sagra (Granada), Seville and Faro de Cullera (Valencia) observatories.

The external cameras located at Calar Alto Observatory, also followed all of these events.

April 6th 2023

Last night of April 5, at 19h20 UT, a bright meteor could be seen flying over the provinces of Ciudad Real and Albacete, breaking into two fragments over the latter province.

This fireball was registered with the SMART Project detectors operated at Calar Alto (Almería), Ayora (Valencia), Huelva, La Hita (Toledo), Sierra Nevada (Granada), La Sagra (Granada), Seville and Faro de Cullera (Valencia) observatories.

Three of the external cameras of Calar Alto Observatory also recorded this event.

April 3rd 2023

At 19h28 UT of last second of April, a bright fireball passed above Madrid and, mainly, Toledo provinces.

The object could be registered with the SMART Project’s detectors operated at Calar Alto (Almería), Huelva, La Hita (Toledo), Sierra Nevada (Granada), La Sagra (Granada), Seville y El Aljarafe (Seville).

Two of the external cameras of Calar Alto Observatory in Almería also followed this event.

March 27th 2023

At 23h41 UT of last March 24th 2023, a bright fireball crossed Murcia province, just above Cartagena city.

This phenomenon was registered with the SMART Project’s detector operated at Calar Alto (Almería), La Hita (Toledo), Sierra Nevada (Granada), La Sagra (Granada) and Seville observatories.

Two of the external cameras of Calar Alto Observatory in Almería, could also follow the event.

A bright fireball crossed Sevillian skies at 01h07 UT on March 21st 2023.

SMART Project’s detectors operated at Calar Alto (Almería), Huelva, La Hita (Toledo), Sierra Nevada (Granada), La Sagra (Granada), Seville and El Aljarafe (Seville) observatories registered this object.

Two of the external cameras operated at Calar Alto in Almería, also recorded the event.
