0;136;0c"The Path From Data to Science" CALIFA 2nd Busy Week: IAC, Tenerife 29th of November, 2nd of December 2011 --- FIRST DRAFT OF THE AGENDA --- The main goal of the busy week is to stimulate science production and to prepare the first data release. Therefore much room has been left for break-up groups to work on their specific projects. Distribution of people between groups: Prior to the meeting the people (or groups of people) interested in working on a topic should send a request, to allocate the rooms. Self-generated working groups are very welcome, but we need to pre-allocate some space, and therefore, we will need people to organize beforehand. The topics of these groups can be general (What about this science topic), technical (what about this analysis method?) or very specific indeed (We have this paper in preparation and need to work on the next steps). There will be an open space on the Wiki to do so (named 2nd Busy Week). If someone wants to discuss, work on a topic, or give a short presentation talk, they should open a sub-section and send the LOC an email. We will reserve at least two rooms for break-up sessions. Outcomes of discussions should be summarized through (short) presentation during the meeting and on the Wiki. Proposed list of Working Groups: - Data Release: What to release and how? - Data Products: (1) Which data-products do we need to do our science and (2) who is going to create them? - Science Driven Working Groups: Bars, Stellar populations, LIRGS and Mergers, AGNs, ISM, Kinematics... - "Article's driven": - MICE: From data to science. - SFR in the Local Universe: CALIFA view. 29.11.2011 9:00 Main Goals of the Week (S.F.Sanchez) 9:15 Status Report I: Data Collection, Quality, Ancillary Data (S.F.Sanchez) 9:45 Status Report II: Science analysis and value-added data products (J.Walcher) 10:15 Common session: * Data base structure: Hands-on session of how ingest data into the system. * Foreseen Data Release structure. * Sharing of intermediate data-products: How to do and why to do it? 11:00 Coffe-Break 11:15 Science Presentations by Members of the collaboration (9 talks of 10+5 minutes) on the current status of some science projects, and/or preliminary results from the analysis on the data. * E.
