PMAS online reduction with P3d

A complete data reduction run requires besides the scientific images a whole set of calibration frames as there are:

BIAS for bias subtraction
DARK for dark subtraction
HALOGEN LAMP for tracing, CCD flat field and fiber flat field
HALOGEN LAMP WITH CALIBRATION MASK for modelling the crossdispersion profiles of the spectra
SKY FLAT for fiber flat field
EMISSION LINE LAMP for wavelength calibration

P3d is an advanced data reduction package written in IDL which offers an automatic reduction of the raw images with high photometric quality provided all the necessary calibration data are taken. Nevertheless during the observations it is unavoidable to have an immediate control of the just taken exposure.
P3d_online  is an extracted part of the whole data reduction package. Once the observer has done a minimum effort of calibration (which is a halogen lamp exposure for tracing), P3d_online is able to extract the 3D data cube for each scientific exposure as soon as the image is stored on the disk.

The online reduction includes:
P3d online data reduction steps: what you need:
Tracing halogen lamp flat or sky flat
Spectra Extraction Tracemask (e.g. from a halogen lamp flat or a sky flat)
 Bias Subtraction (optional) bias exposure
Fiber Flat (optional) Flatmask (from a halogen lamp flat or a sky flat)
 Wavelength Calibration (optional)

There is also a GUI for the more comfortable handling of the online reduction. It starts the reduction steps via clicking on buttons and provides some usefull display tools for the immediate inspection of the results.
