The image shows the spiral galaxy NGC 4254 (Messier 99) taken in the near infrared K'-band. Bright foreground stars have been masked out, but the galaxy is not face-on deprojected. The gray lines show the 8 positions we placed the slit of the spectrograph providing us with 16 rotation curves (labelled in degrees).
